A putter company that started with one sentence.
TimberTouch Putterworks builds exotic-hardwood putters — CNC machined and hand finished in Wisconsin. What began as a suggestion on a golf trip became a putter that beats metal where it matters most: feel, sound, and where the weight sits. This is how we got here.
A father, a son, and one good idea.
It began on a father/son golf trip in southern Tennessee. Between rounds, we were talking about the new woodworking equipment back home, and my son said it: you should make wood putters. After a career as a VP of Engineering in manufacturing, I knew I could design a putter that was genuinely different — and genuinely better. That one sentence started everything.
The early ones weren't good. They taught us everything.
The first putters failed in every way a putter can fail. We worked through woods, weights, faces, and finishes — and every setback narrowed in on the right balance of weight, feel, and durability. Those lessons are built into every putter we make today.
Feel, sound, and weight where metal can't put it.
Wood changed everything, for three reasons. Feel — wood naturally dampens the micro-vibrations that muddy feedback in a metal head, so every strike reads clear in your hands. Sound — dense tonewoods give impact a warm, organic note instead of a metallic click. And weight placement — because wood is light, most of the head weight is ours to place. We push dense weights to the far outside edges of the head — something a solid metal head simply can't do — for dramatically higher MOI, more stability, and more forgiveness on every stroke.
Every putter is engineered before it's ever cut.
Every model starts in CAD, designed down to the gram. We model the head shape, the internal weight pockets, and the center of gravity, then refine the design digitally until it's right using Finite Element Analysis software — before a single block of wood is cut. That's how a handcrafted putter holds engineering tolerances.
Machined like an engine part. Finished by hand.
CNC machining brings complex designs to life with repeatable precision — every head matches its CAD model, and every weight pocket lands exactly where it was engineered. From there it's handwork: sanding and fitting, laser engraving after the fit is right, and a 2-part thermoset varnish tough enough for real rounds. Handcrafted artistry, held to machine tolerances.
One shape became a family of designs.
What started as a single design is now a full lineup — the Woodrich Regal and FATTY mallets, the Woodford, the Bladewood, and center-shaft zero-torque builds — in woods from walnut to leopardwood. Each design came from listening to golfers and matching different strokes and preferences. And because every putter is one wood combination at a time, no two are ever quite alike.
The reviews came back with the words we designed for.
Feel. Balance. A satisfying sound at impact. PGA pros and reviewers praised exactly what wood makes possible, and the stability of our ultra-high-MOI designs turned skeptics into believers. A growing number of golfers have put a wood putter in the bag for good.

We keep doing what got us here: refining designs, exploring new woods, and machining putters that perform as good as they look. Every putter that leaves the shop is built, checked, and finished by the same hands — and we plan to keep it that way.
