Internal Weight Placement
The way that we can move large amounts of the putter head weight to the far outside of the putter is one of the primary ways that we separate ourselves from other standard metal putters.

Far Outside Weighting
Our putters benefit significantly from precise discretionary mass placement, allowing us to position weight at the far edges of the putter head. This unique design results in a dramatically increased MOI compared to standard metal putters. By using dense, yet lighter-than-metal wood, we can push weight to the extreme edges, enhancing both stability and forgiveness with every stroke.

Full Face Sweetspot
By positioning weight far outside and near the face of the putter, we virtually eliminate twisting on off-center hits. This prevents the ball from veering right on toe strikes and left on heel strikes. Additionally, placing the weight near the face optimizes the putter's center of gravity, minimizing the "gear effect" that can worsen mishits. The result is a putter that delivers straighter, more consistent putts, even when contact is slightly off-center.

Consistent Distance
Our testing has shown that with a 20-foot putt, off-center hits with our ultra-high MOI putters lose a maximum of only 4 inches in distance. In contrast, low MOI putters can lose up to 4 feet of distance on toe hits. This inconsistency can lead to more three-putt situations, costing golfers valuable strokes. Our high MOI design minimizes distance loss, helping golfers maintain consistency and save strokes.

Micro-Vibration Isolation
Timber Touch putters feature an internal thin metal and foam layer parallel to the face. This reduces micro-vibrations that can cloud the feel and feedback golfers need. When you strike the ball with your putter, it sends vibrations to your hands, providing valuable feedback on the quality of the strike. Micro-vibrations caused by reverberation and echo effects within the putter head can distort this feedback. Wood naturally dampens these micro-vibrations, but we take it a step further with our internal layer to fine-tune this quality even more. This is why so many golfers love the feel of our putters—they deliver clear, precise feedback that allows you to refine your putting stroke.

Face Plate Construction
All the woods we use for the face of our putters are dense and hard exotic hardwoods that are not only extremely durable but also provide unique performance benefits. These woods have just enough flex to grip the ball longer than metal faces, helping to initiate a true roll right from impact. This additional grip aids in minimizing skidding and promoting a consistent roll, which is especially advantageous on today's fast greens. The natural give of good also provides a subtle level of forgiveness, helping control the speed of putts.
In contrast, some competitors use face inserts that can cause poorly struck putts to make contact with the surrounding metal face. This can result in the ball traveling too far or veering off line. With TimberTouch putters, the entire face is made from high-quality wood, ensuring that even mishit putts travel a similar distance with consistent accuracy, helping you achieve better results on every stroke.
Summary
The Timber Touch approach to MOI focuses on maximizing performance through strategic internal and external construction. By utilizing advanced internal technology, such as custom-made metal components and a foam layer to reduce micro-vibrations, we enhance both stability and feedback. Moving weight to the far outside, optimizing the center of gravity, and reducing twisting ensures our putters provide exceptional forgiveness and consistency.
Our face plate construction further improves performance by using dense exotic hardwoods that grip the ball longer, promoting a true roll and minimizing skidding. Unlike competitors that use face inserts surrounded by metal, our full-face wooden design delivers consistent results on off-center hits, allowing for better control and fewer three-putt situations.
Whether it’s minimizing distance loss, preventing twisting, or enhancing feedback, Timber Touch putters are engineered to help you make more putts and lower your score on the green.
