FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Timbertouch Putterworks Putters

Care and Maintenance

Can Timber Touch putters handle moisture or getting wet?
Yes, Timber Touch putters are coated with a protective finish designed to handle exposure to moisture during play. However, to maintain the putter’s longevity, it’s important to wipe it dry before placing it in its protective cover. If the cover becomes damp after use, allow both the putter and the cover to dry fully before putting the cover back on to prevent damage or dulling of the finish over time.

How should I clean my Timber Touch putter?
To clean your Timber Touch putter, simply wipe the clubhead with a soft, damp cloth after each round to remove dirt and grass. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the wood or finish. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution and gently wipe, then dry thoroughly.

Does my Timber Touch putter require any special maintenance?
TimberTouch putters are designed to be durable with minimal maintenance. However, if your putter has a natural wood finish, you may occasionally want to apply a light coat of wood conditioner or polish to preserve the wood’s luster. Always follow manufacturer recommendations for wood care
products.

How long can I expect my Timber Touch putter to last?
With proper care and maintenance, your Timber Touch putter is built to last for many years. The durable materials and high-quality craftsmanship ensure that the putter will maintain its performance and aesthetic appeal, even with regular use.

Shipping, Returns, and Warranty

How long does it take to process and ship my order?
Once your order is placed, it typically takes 5-7 business days to process.  Putters need to be glued to the shaft, cut to length, and have the grip of choice added.    For custom orders, please allow additional time for personalization. Standard shipping usually takes 2-5 business days within the U.S., but expedited options are available at checkout if you need your putter sooner.

What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy for standard, non-customized putters. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return the putter in its original condition for a full refund or exchange. Please
note that custom putters, due to their personalized nature, are non-returnable.

Do Timber Touch putters come with a warranty?
Yes, all Timber Touch putters come with a 1-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects. If you experience any issues related to craftsmanship or materials during normal use, we will repair or replace
your putter at no additional cost.

Can I track my order once it’s shipped?
Yes, once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can use this number to monitor your shipment’s progress and estimated delivery date.

Tell me about your high MOI putters and why it matters.

What is MOI and why is it important in a putter?
MOI, or Moment of Inertia, is a measure of a putter’s resistance to twisting when the ball is struck off-center. A higher MOI means the putter is more stable, resulting in less twisting and more consistent ball speed on mishits. This leads to better accuracy and control, especially on longer putts where even small inconsistencies can lead to big differences in results.

How does Timber Touch achieve high MOI through Far Outside Weighting?
At Timber Touch, we use wood that is 10 times lighter than steel, allowing us to move the weight much farther toward the perimeter of the putter head compared to traditional putters. By redistributing the weight this way, we maximize the MOI, enhancing stability and reducing twisting on off-center hits. This gives our putters superior forgiveness and consistency.

How does Far Outside Weighting benefit my putting in real-life situations?
In real-world testing, non-centered hits can cause twisting (causing crooked hits) and a loss of distance. With our high MOI design, a 20-foot putt showed only about a 2-inch distance difference between center strikes and toe or heel hits. In contrast, standard low MOI putters experienced losses of up to 48 inches on toe hits and 30 inches on heel hits. This means that with Timber Touch putters, you’ll experience far greater consistency, even on less-than-perfect strikes.

Product Design

How does Timber Touch use CAD modeling in the design process?
We utilize advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) modeling to create precise putter designs down to the smallest detail. This technology allows us to experiment with different shapes, materials, and weighting configurations virtually before producing a physical prototype. By doing so, we can ensure the highest level of accuracy and performance before a single putter is made.

What role does FEA (Finite Element Analysis) play in your putter testing?
FEA is an essential part of our testing process, allowing us to simulate how our putters will perform under real-world conditions. By using FEA, we can analyze stress points, balance, and vibration to fine-tune our designs. This helps us deliver putters that provide superior stability, feel, and durability.

How does CNC cutting contribute to the precision of your putters?
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting ensures that each putter head is crafted with absolute precision. This automated cutting process allows us to achieve exacting tolerances in every component, ensuring that
every Timber Touch putter performs consistently and accurately, down to the finest detail.

Materials

What materials are used in Timber Touch putters?
Our putters are crafted using a combination of exotic and domestic wood that is responsibly harvested. This material provides the ideal balance of strength and flexibility, allowing for enhanced control and precision on the greens. We also use high-quality dense metals for weighting and durability.

Why do you use wood in your putters instead of metal?
Wood offers unique advantages over metal, including better feedback and a softer feel on impact. The natural properties of wood also reduce sliding and promote a smoother, faster roll compared to many metal-faced
putters. Plus, it provides a more pleasant sound and a touch of timeless craftsmanship.  Lastly, they look beautiful.

How do Timber Touch putters compare to traditional putters in terms of durability?
Thanks to our use of high-quality, rigid wood and precision engineering, Timber Touch putters are extremely durable. Our putters are built to withstand the rigors of regular use while maintaining their performance and aesthetic appeal. With proper care, they are designed to last for years.

What is the significance of far outside weighting in your putters?
Our far outside weighting design increases stability during the stroke. By distributing weight toward the edges of the putter head, it minimizes twisting on off-center hits, leading to more consistent, accurate putts.   Look to the MOI section for more details.
